Brand identity

Your name is already your brand. Put your signature to it.

You run a business you're proud of, deliver quality and think creatively alongside your clients. And yet… it remains quiet. Meanwhile you see others popping up in podcasts, at events, on inspiration lists — and they seem to attract clients effortlessly. The difference isn't in talent, but in the strategy behind their personal brand.

Personal brand as an entrepreneur: your name is your brand, put your signature to it

Your name is your personal brand — even if you've never called it that. You run a business you're proud of. You help clients forward, deliver quality and think creatively alongside them. And yet… it remains quiet. No spontaneous enquiries, no invitations for collaborations, no real visibility.

Meanwhile you see others (fellow entrepreneurs of your calibre too) popping up in podcasts, at events, on inspiration lists. They seem to attract clients effortlessly. And that whilst you're at least as good at what you do.

What do they have? No secret trick. They have a strategy behind their personal brand.

Why do people prefer to buy from people?

Trust is at the heart of every purchase. Research by Edelman shows that 63% of consumers are more likely to buy a product from a person they trust than from an anonymous company. That makes your personal brand not a luxury, but a business necessity.

We live in a time when trust in anonymous companies is falling. People want to know who they're doing business with. Who you are. What you stand for. What makes you different from the rest.

According to recent research by Edelman, 80% of consumers have more trust in brands they use than in business or in governments. Whilst this is about brands, it emphasises how strongly trust is felt through recognition and repetition of interaction.

Personal branding is therefore not at all a buzzword for influencers. It's a way to make your character, expertise and promise visible. Without having to shout over yourself.

Because let's be honest: there are plenty of others doing the same thing as you. But no one doing it the way you do.

Your name is your personal brand — not your job title

A strong personal brand means people remember you. That they think of you at the right moment. That they mention your name in conversations with others. Not because you're shouting everywhere about how good you are, but because your story adds up. Because you clearly show who you help, with what, and why.

When I started with my own brand, I trusted in my work. In my portfolio. But it turned out not to be enough. Only when I began translating my vision, voice and style into a brand story that suits me did the snowball start rolling. People recognised me, started following me, came to me instead of to the umpteenth 'good designer'.

You don't have to build your personal brand alone

That's precisely why I've written an e-book to help you on your way. Not with woolly theory, but with a down-to-earth approach for entrepreneurs who want to get serious about their personal brand. Whether you're just starting with visibility or have been in business for longer but still don't see a thread running through your communication – this e-book helps you sharpen your story and communicate it consistently.

In this e-book you'll learn among other things:

  • How to clearly formulate your unique brand story;

  • why people buy from you – not from your service;

  • how to become visible without shouting;

  • which pitfalls are still keeping you invisible.

No email list spam. No sales patter. Just value.

Your name as a brand. Starting today.

Most entrepreneurs wait until they're ready for it. Until their site is finished. Until their offer is perfect. Until someone else pushes them forward. But that moment rarely comes of its own accord. Just start. Make it concrete. Let your name and not just your logo make the difference.

Don't fancy reading the book? Then read what I could do for you on this page. Or first delve into what a strong brand identity does for you.

Let me know what the e-book stirs in you. I always respond personally. And no, I'm not trying to sell you anything. But I'm happy to help you take a step further.
